Éan

Branding for an innovative bakery and wine bar

  • Brand Identity
  • Packaging

Enda and Sinead came to us when they were setting up a bakery/ wine bar in Druids Lane, Galway. It’s said that Wrens had a special affinity with the Druids and the birds used to carry messages for them. Indeed the Irish for Druid, Draoi and the Irish for Wren, Dreolín are very similar. It’s been suggested that Dreolín (Wren) means little druid or Druideen.

So with Éan (bird) as the chosen name and an address on Druid’s lane, a Wren had to feature in the identity. It’s a modern bakery wine bar so we wanted something clean and graphic not figurative or nostalgic. The identity had to work across all communication large or small so we restricted the pallete to a warm orange and black which contrast suitably to work both large and small. All the printed collateral was on 100% recycled stock in keeping with Enda and Sinead’s strong commitment to sustainability in their restaurants.
